When We Are Closed
In an emergency, telephone 08444 773195
During normal surgery hours, 8.30 to 18.00, a Receptionist will take a message and pass it to your GP or Duty Doctor immediately. Outside normal surgery hours, your call will be diverted automatically to East Berkshire Primary Care Out of Hours Service, which is the local GP Out of Hours Service.
The Receptionist there will arrange for a Duty Doctor to call you. That doctor may give you telephone advice, arrange for you to visit the Out of Hours Surgery (Primary Care Centre) or arrange a home visit for you if necessary. Please ensure all your calls to this service are for medical emergencies only.
Berkshire East Primary Care Trust is responsible for commissioning the Out of Hours Service.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
